We offer a complementary consultation to help you decide if an estate sale is the most advantageous way for you to liquidate the contents of your home. We will discuss your goal and timing. Prior to the consultation, you should begin to consider the items you want to sell or keep. This will allow us to determine if you have enough items to hold a successful sale. Estate sales are the most successful when there is a variety of items to sell; furniture, collectibles, jewelry, clothing, kitchen items, tools, rugs, lawn equipment, etc. It is important that you refrain from throwing things out…almost anything can be sold at an All-Star Estate Sale - from Art to Zucchini spiralizers. You might be surprised at what we can sell for you!
The sooner you contact us the better, ideally at least 30 days in advance to secure your preferred date. It is best to contact us, if possible, before the house goes on the market so we can coordinate timing with you. During our busy season dates fill up quickly, sometimes 2 or 3 months in advance.
Estate sales have set prices. Your items are researched prior to the sale and priced according to fair market value. Customers shopping at the estate sale know the price of every item and buy accordingly. Generally many more items, large and small, are made available for sale at an estate sale. Unlike an estate sale, auctions involve live bidding and there is little control over the sale price of the item. In general, companies doing on-line auctions will hand pick the items for sale, leaving a good portion your home’s contents, requiring further consideration.
Trust and communication are key. You should feel both comfortable and confident in the company that will be working in your home. If possible attend an estate sale of the company you are considering. Don’t be shy about asking for references.
Yes. It is important that the company you choose to handle your sale is insured to protect both you and that company, too. Please know that All-Star Estate Sales is licensed in Massachusetts, fully insured and bonded.
Once it is determined there will be a sale it’s time to separate the items you want to keep from the rest of the contents of the house. We will take an inventory of those items and take over from there to make the process as stress free as possible. We will advise you of any steps you need to take to ensure all details are considered. Again, we urge you to avoid throwing things away. We will come to stage your home the week before the sale and if it is decided something does not have value for a sale, it can be disposed of then.
We research your items using professional pricing tools such as online membership sites, current market data, past sales, and our many years of experience. For specialty items; fine jewelry and collectible sports memorabilia, for example, we consult experts in our network to ensure accurate pricing.
At the conclusion of your sale, your home will be left in good order and broom clean. While we do not dispose of unsold items ourselves, we will advise you ahead of time of those companies we recommend for removal of those items whether for consignment, donation or disposal. In a timely manner after the sale you will get an accounting of the sale, along with your proceeds from the sale.

At our estate sales, prices are clearly marked and based on fair market value. There’s no bidding—just straightforward shopping. Auctions, on the other hand, involve competitive bidding and often no set prices.
Every sale is unique! We're liquidating the contents of a home, so you can expect a wide variety—furniture, artwork, kitchenware, clothing, accessories, vintage finds, tools, and so much more. Each sale is a treasure hunt. Whether you’re hunting for a specific item or just enjoying a day of “sport shopping,” there’s usually something for everyone.
Absolutely. During the sale, our team can help you move large items to your vehicle. If you need delivery, we’ll be happy to refer you to trusted local movers.
